Pan American/Bermuda.
From 1927 to 1991, Pan American World Airways pioneered transocean and intercontinental flying. And during the late-1940s and the early-1950s, Mark von Arenburg brought the destinations they serviced to vivid life with colorful portraits perfectly suited to lure the globetrotters of the day. Here, a couple enjoys the florid colonial splendor of the Caribbean paradise, blissfully transported from their daily routine, as a background Clipper wings domestically away to board a new slew of passengers hankering for tropical distraction.
