Patented in 1876 (but supposedly in production since 1867), Ayer’s Hair Vigor used as its trademark an image of a woman with long, flowing hair, and promised to restore grays to their youthful shade of blond or brown. This three-sheet design is a gorgeous example of the fine quality of early American lithography.
